guys do we have the 15 mins question paper reading time applicable 4 Nov 11...??

There is no official notification saying 15-minutes is discontinued, so, in my view, its still applicable.

Icai president CA G.RAMASWAMY has made few imp announcement:

stipend 4 article ship will be almost double in few days

there will be a special programme 4 those students who are failing continuously

15 mins reading time in exams will be cont.

And most important its confirmed that in a few days govt will sanction icai's proposal of graduates passed with 55% can directly join articleship

Dear All

Please once go through the ICAI notification regarding 15-minutes provision for exam paper.

Provision of 15-minutes reading time to the candidates of CA Examinations - (21-04-2011)

Provision of 15-minutes reading time to the candidates of Chartered Accountants Examinations
(Effective from May-2011 CA Examinations)

The Council of the Institute, based on the recommendation of the Examination Committee has decided to allow 15-minute reading time to the candidates in the Chartered Accountants Examinations before the scheduled commencement of the examinations i.e, if the examination commences from 2.00 PM, then the candidates will be given Question Papers at 1.45 PM. This reading time will not be available for CPT and all post qualification Courses Examinations.

The objective of providing question paper 15 minutes before the scheduled time is to:
(i) Enable the candidates to read the question paper thoroughly (without encroaching on the examination duration) and
(ii) Chalk out the strategy to answer the questions.

Candidates are required to note the following in this regard:
(1) The candidates will not be allowed to leave the Examination Hall under any circumstances from 1.45 PM to 3.00 PM.
(2) The candidates shall be allowed to enter the hall from 1.30 PM upto 2.30 PM only.

Any breach of the above requirements would be treated as adopting Unfair Means by the students concerned and applicable disciplinary action would be taken on such erring students.

Please observe the highlighted portion in the above announcement. They have clearly written its applicable Effective from May 2011 exams. They have not said its applicable only for May 2011 exams. It means it is effective from May 2011 and afterwards exams.

As many newspapers may be written that 15-minutes provision is not provided. But, ICAI in its website has never went back on this announcement. We need to trust the information provided in icai.org only but not any other newspapers websites. This is my view.

Hi friends,

Perhaps u all do not aware about ICAI's procedure for the notifications that once notification is issued, it will continue till other notification of discontinuation, if any. so, let me say you that this 15 min extra time is still applicable as well.
