  Don`t run after BIG 4. if u do articleship in BIG 4 you hardly gets a time for ur studies .one of the demerit of working in Big 4 is that u will stuck in one department like stat audit , tax audit..!!!

I will advice you to join any partnership ca Firm where all type of work is handled...!!!

where u can learn ...!!!

MANNU THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE BUT I AM WORKING IN A PARTNERSHIP FIRM RECENTLY BUT THE FACT IS THAT I AM NOT GETTING THE PROPER EXPOSURE THERE:)

Even i suugest that u join a mid sized firm.I was also in a big firm.Now m feeling said that i not got enough exposure.All my friends in small firm know many things which i dont know.

Go for big4. Yes you may get to learn variety of stuffs in a mid sized firm and in big4 you will have to work in one department throughout. But all that doesnt matter. In the end what matters is the brand name. Those who are from big4s are preferred by every corporates. Good Luck.

its not very tough to get into big4. Marks dont matter as much as what knowledge u have and also what kind of soft skills u possess.

But before getting into it, be sure about what exactly u want as your career, meaning u want specialisation in any field or gaining knowledge in all fields. Choose a firm accordingly.

big4 offers only specialisation in one particular field.

if there are enough vacancies references would not matter.

They will choose u when u'll pass the finals. when u dont get the time to study yo final's how u'll pass...

Nd the other thing is use your Articlshp to gain knowledge ,not coporate job...when u have knowledge u dont need to beg for jobs as u'll b having plenty of job n business option in front of u...

Agreed to your views to some extent Karthik, i want to add one thing, if you want to go for practise after qualifying, its better to go for mid sized firms and if you want to go for jobs, its best to go for big4s. Their brand name do matter a lot. But i dont agree to what you said about the 'time' issue. See, even in most of the mid sized or small firms articles are made to work 10 to 12 hours. Its not that only articles in big4s work overtime. Even mid sized firms ( there may be few exceptions) dont give enough leave to articles. You can expect such leaves only if you are in a firm of your close relatives. So better to go for big4s, atleast your hardwork will be valued in the end.

nothing matter.. and nothing matters.. when you are in Ipcc level, you can't decide for your future. even after passing this confusion remains that in which field we should go. If you have opportunity to part of big4 as article, it is best opportunity and should not miss it... big 4 doesn't effect study.....
