Bank audit is not a tough job now a days because of RBI norms branch auditors are more concerned about NON PERFORMING ASSETS than anything else. First of all try to learn what is an NPA and related matters. If  you are going for audit of branch all you to do apart from NPA is to:

                                               1. Check Balances of the bank on some particular dates mentioned.

                                                2. Check the way in which internal controls are existing.

                                                3. Find out if any dicrepencies in accounting.

                                                4. Check the insurance policies taken on different loans.

                                                5. Checking of all promissory notes and relevant authorizations as required.

                                                6. Check the cash in TILL  AND VAULT

                                                7. Try to know about the forms 3CA,3CD etc.

          Above all these try to get the copies of pronouncements of RBI,ICAI and also the internal circulars of the bank for which you are going to audit
