is it possible to file income tax return electronically now in April 2018 in respect of AY 2017-18. If so please let me know how it is to be done.

now you cannot file return self in respect of ay 2017-18. you can file return only when the officer has issued notice u/s 142(1) and 148 .

We can't file ITR for AY 17-18 from 1st April.

A.Y. 17-18 returns closed on 31 March 2018.Now you can't file return for that period.
