whether an ordinary resolution is enough
or
a special resolution is required....

Ordinary resolution is enough for alteration of capital clause of Memorandum for increase in authorised share capital [Ref.Sec.61 of CA 2013]. However, if amendment of Articles is also involved, special resolution will be required u/s 14.
