Is it necessary to sign on top of excise invoice as authentication signature issued by the manufacture unit.
I heard that this is not necessary as per union budget 2010.
is it right?
Please provide sources.

it is mandatory but intimation in regards with pre-authentication is not required,

You are right. In the current budget of 2010, pre-authentication of invoices issued under rule 11 has been dispensed with.
