Dear Sandhya,
Institute study material is more than enough for Auditing. Instead of spending time in reference books, u can study the material 3-4 times fully. try to answer the past 10 years questions from scanner. Try to remember some important section numbers.

There is no need to write sections in Auditing but to write the SA nos are important. If you cover the study module, it is more than sufficient.Just read the things conceptually rather than reading more and more.

Audit is a scoring paper if you prepare systematically, smartly and write the exam in the way it is to be
written.
As you are attempting in May 2011, time is available for you.
The approach you are following is exactly right, stick to the institute material and for reference you may
go for Padhuka.
I want your attention in the way you answer the paper.
Write the answer according to the marks allotted for that.
Dont let your paper be filled with purely theory.
Answer the Question with Practical approach, with examples, case laws, mind maps apat from
explaining the concept
Concentrate well on the chapters having more weightage in the exams.
Quoting section is good. But if you are not sure, better not to quote.
After reading chapter , attempt questions of previous examination questions, and past examination
questions of other professional examination questions like ICWAI etc so that you will gain fair idea of
answering the questions in a professional approach and you will be subject to questions in different
manner.
Atttempt case law in the following lines preferably :
1) Short briefing of the facts of the case
2 ) Quoting the provision along with section if you are sure relevant to the case
3) Application of the relevant provision in the instant case and give your analysis
4) conclusion
5) Quote any decided case law on this matter and note only if you are sure
Last but not the least update yourself with the latest concepts in the sites like CA club. and Institute.
You can attempt latest Revision test papers when exam is approaching to gain grip on all the
chapters and you can attempt revision test papers already released as part of your preparation.
Last but not the least go through student journals and update yourself on Auditing concepts if any in t
the journal.
wishing you all the best for your preparation and a score of atleast 75,
