The One Says:
It depends on the scope of the Audit.
However generally speaking one should begin with preliminary surveys to get a general understanding of the business which can be achieved through the study of the past few years annual reports and comparison with the current years, interviewing key personnel to identify changes (such as newly applicable laws or general management changes), and specific to pharmaceutical companies patents, trademark laws applicable for which you can have an interview with the companies legal council. Also the internet can be a good resource to get an idea of the business trends.
