hi, just wanted to know does the statement of marks track and state the number of attempts taken?

No, the statement of marks simply provides actual marks secured in a particular examination and it does not indicate the number of attempts taken.

Then why does the job seeker need to mention the attempt taken, the number of attempts taken is in the drop down list in the online filling of cv of companies. Does the number of attempts really matter?
Yes, Prerana.., U r right yesterday i also face this type of problem in interview. If in CA attempt is doesn't matter then why interviewer ask that? And i m really socked because interviewer was CA. And ask me that why i can't clear inter without attempt.

Prerana Ji I was replying to your initial question on whether the statement of marks issued by ICAI whether it indicates the number of attempt(s) taken by a candidate.

As far as your subsequent question on the employer insisting on the Number of attempts taken by a candidate that is the policy or discretion of the recruiting organization. You may be aware that Big 4 Audit firms prefer to hire candidates who have qualified as a Chartered Accountant in their first or Second attempt and there are some exceptions where in such rule is given a miss.

Most good companies who wish to hire candidates have a very rigorous hiring process. The crème de la is scouted for. I understand the feelings, but an Employer does not give too much importance to an Employee's emotions. This is the truth and one has to re-invent oneself and take things forward for a better prospect.
