Articleship as job experience

Hi,

I think articleship training should not be considered as job experience. Because, in my view, we'll get only mere exposure to all kinds of work in articles rather perfection in all the areas. To consider an experience as job experience, we need to have perfection in the work.

Moreover, in my view, we are not expected to achieve perfection in the work in articleship training. Instead,   an exposure to various kinds of work is sufficient.

In my opinion we can mention our articleship training as an experience because it is any equal to working in other organisation. We are not working in audit firm to undestand concepts that we learn by studying materials but to gain experience so that as soon as we become CA we also become an experienced professinal. I think we should here apply an famous accounting principle i.e. Substance over form.... Though we are cald trainees bt we in reality do things on our own gaining experience....so go ahead if think u r an experienced professional.

Agree with chaitanya n if an accountant can consider his/her period as an experiance then why not articles because there z almost same work has been done by the article as the accountant

Articleship can be considered for experience.

As per the cambridge dictionary "experience" means "The process of getting knowledge or skill from doing, seeing and feeling things"

That is what happens with us in articleship. We feel things, we see every practical aspects and at last we get knowledge.

When you know how to file returns, how to manage work, how to finalise the accounts, how to audit and how to arrange funds, then thats it.

All it matters is whether you got practical exposure or not . It doesn't matter from where you got it.
