21 March 2018I would like to know whether interest u/s A B C is calculated before considering relief U/s 89(1) or after considering it. Presently I have received an intimation on the basis of not considering relief u/s 89(1) for the purpose of calculation of tax liability for the purpose to calculate int. u/s 234 A B and C thus creating a demand.

You may be under impression of the interest liability over tax for the year for which ITR filed.........
But department now calculates interest liability over the tax relief amount which got transferred from current year to earlier years........... Advantage Digitallization !!!
