Hello

Need some help! Just received an intimation  u/s 143(1)  for Ass Year 2011-12 where the ITO has not given credit and Demanded Tax with penalty and interest  for the following:

- Sec 88 (PPF etc)

- TDS on Bank Interest

- SElf Assesement Tax

Both the TDS and Self Assessment Tax are shown in the Form26AS. What is my recourse?

You need to file rectification u/s 154.

 

Provide the officer with the copies of all the credit you want.

1. Deduction of PPF is available u/s 80C - provide officer with PPF paid receipt with bank statement to prove your word.

2. Tax Credit and TDS credit , provide officer with TDS certificates, tax paid challans.

3. Provide details of income offered to tax in respect of TDS claim you have asked for , i.e. bank interest whether offered to tax or not.
