yeah im preparing for CS final...apparently the study material and the newsletter are to be covered extensively...apart from that..im in the dark as you are! but www.icsi.edu has the past exam Q papers under the students section..
Hi "SC"

Are you appearing for all the 3 groups in Dec. 06. If so how much time do you think is needed to be devoted.

Terrifying Factoid: In the Advanced Company Law Paper a person who has got 41/100 is the prize winner for highest marks according to the website. I personally hope its a typographical error.

Do reply.

Regards.
yes Harish..i am a preparing for all 3 groups for the dec exam..if ur on full-time study leave, one month should suffice.

As for the prize winners, they represent only those who cleared in the first attempt..so there could be ppl who got more marks than that. but im sure 41 is a typo!

for procedural laws like tax and law refer to an additional book...i use A K Majumdar and G k Kapoor's book for law. for tax...the text book is really great from point of view of CS exams...u cud refer to a recommended book too... for WTO, u either have to look up the WTO website or refer to some newsletter which specifically covers that... for HR/IR.. the newsletter is very important for the case laws more than for any other paper.

hope that helps! good luck!
Thanks SC keep in touch through this group. I don't know many who are doing CS (Final)

All the best
thanks and good luck to u as well...i dunno anyone appearing either...so any info from ur side will also be appreciated! will be in touch!
Hi SC,

I have cleared CS(Inter) in Dec.2005 attempt. Studied for about a month. But I don't feel as confident of CS(Final)  I don't think the same strategy would work since the portions have changed and they are rather vast May be I would require 2 months or study time.

What about you?

Regards.

BTW have you completed the 27 CCs!
i actually appeared for final this june...but i had no time to study..im sure i wont make it so im going to prepare for the exams anyway. with a regular study i suppose a month of hard work should do...im planning on covering 2 papers a month...so by Nov...one full study would be completed.

I have not completed any CCs! i recd a letter from the inst about that! gotta finish them if i don't clear my exams this time!
With luck you might clear this time itself.

Yours seems to be a good startegy. But I personally feel that some papers might need more perparation than others.

Do you know which ones are comparatively easier to score in?

Hi Harish...sorry bout the late reply...

the easiest one is Banking and Insurance. If ur doin CA too..then tax is very simple particularly because most questions are text book oriented...anyway don't take that too much for granted...fin mgmt is relatively simple too. the tougher ones are advanced company law, HR/IR and WTO. the most interesting one is my opinion is corporate restructuring...very cool subject! For audit, u can do a selective reading and safely omit quite a bit...if u see the TB, u will find the allocation of marks...and there is always one Q on prof ethics...which is a verbatim of the schedule in CA Act. secretarial practice..is average...u need to go thro tons of agreements and formats.

that covers all the 9 papers...will give u any more info i get...
Thank SC

This information is priceless stuff....

Do keep in touch through this forum.

oh! glad i cud help! will be in touch....
