Please help me on this. My wife is a Housewife. She only has an FD interest income of 17000 for AY 2014-15.
In form 26AS, I saw that TDS has been deducted at 10%.
So is she eligible for any Tax refund.
Please let me know

Yes, ofcourse your wife can avail refund provided filing of Income Tax return before due date i.e for Assessment year 2014-15 July 31st 2014.

YES IF BANK HAD DEDUCTED TDS ON FD INTEREST INCOME YOU CAN FILE YOUR WIFE'S INCOME TAX RETURN IN WHICH YOU HAVE TO CLAIM TDS AND YOU GET REFUND OF TDS DEDUCTED..
IT IS ADVISED TO YOU IF YOUR WIFE DOESNOT HAVE INCOME WHICH IS CHARGABLE TO TAX THEN YOU HAVE TO SUBMIT FORM 15G TO THE BANK. AFTER SUBMITING 15G FORM BANK WILL NOT DEDUCT TDS ON FD INTEREST.
