Advance tax not showing in AIS right away is normal. The bank processes your Challan 280 and the OLTAS data takes 3-5 working days to push into AIS/26AS after payment.
A few things to check:
1. Confirm the challan was paid under the correct head: 0021 (Income Tax, Non-Companies) or 0020 (Companies), with Assessment Year 2026-27.
2. Download the challan counterfoil from your bank or NSDL and note the CIN (Challan Identification Number).
3. Check Form 26AS directly under Part C (advance tax) on the Income Tax portal, AIS sometimes lags a day or two behind 26AS.
If the payment is older than 5 working days and still not reflected, raise a grievance on the IT portal with the CIN and challan copy. Once reflected, you can claim it directly while filing your ITR.
