Adjustment of tds by deductor

317 views 5 replies
We had to make certain payment to IIT Madras for consulting, for which TDS was deducted (aftre providing PAN number) and paid to IT department. However, we got clarification from IIT that they are exempt from IT as they are funded by government and thus no TDS is applicable. Kindly let me know if it is possible to adjust the TDS/claim refund for the same.

IIT Madras can claim refund of the TDS amount which you have deducted as they are an exmept entity.

You can delite this deductee with help of conso file, and utilise this avalable balance for next TDS payment

Thanks Bharat!
