You have to decide which career you want to pursue- as a CA or as an Actuary. The career prospect of Actuary is better than CA but the exam is also much tougher than CA.

No qualification only by itself has a lot of value unless you are capable enough to get value out of it. I personally know one CA in my home town (with more than 10 years experience) whose earning is less than 10000 a month and he has lost his hope on the profession. Similarly I know one CS having the same footing. Should we say that CA or CS has no value? To conclude - Actuary is one of the best profession, not only in India but world over.

Hi frnds!
Do u know?
A combination of CA+ACTUARY makes it a great difference not only in terms of knowledge but even enhanses the income level by leaps and bounds.
For students in kolkata i can suggest a brilliant tutorial run by an ACTUARY himself. The contact person is MR. NISHANT and contact him at 09332548028.Its a pleasure learning from him.

It is a very good option as the recent revisions in Accounting standards have increased the demand for ActuariesEg: AS 15 calls for an actuarial valuation for gratuity & long term compensated absence. In south India for instance there are only two eminent actuaries - One in channai & One in bangalore(Father & Son). LIC too does the work but the quqlity i feel is superior in the case of the practising actuaries. My ain goal is CA but i m thinking about actuary too. Will check out that TARGETACTUARY site u had quoted above.
