Accurred intt on Fixed Deposit are posted in profit and loss Account credit side or not

Acrrued Interest on fixed deposit should be added with balance of FD in balance sheet in assets side or you can post in credit side of profit and loss account, either should be followed otherwise double effect will happen in accounts
