Hi.. You can try Suranjan Saha...I believe this book contains detailed explanations which even a non-commerce graduate can understand.

Accountancy text book for 1st year P.U.C. ( equivalent to 10+1 else where), karnataka state by B.S. RAMAN by United Publications is the best book to study as far as basics are concerned.
This book will enable anyone to understand the concepts easily. Moreover it is written in a very simple language and is self explanatory.
you wlll feel reading this book as a pleasure as every concept and problem is explained very clearly.
