If u remember the section, u must quote it
First write about the section on which ur answer is based. Then write your answer, the question is asking about.
Never quote a wrong section. If you dont knw just skip it.

No Such requirement of referring to sections. However, it is recommended to quote.
My Suggestion is,
" 1. Don't observe memorizing the sections as an additional task. Just try to read a related "Case Law". If Possible, go with a benchmark Case law(Supreme Court/High Court). It might help you to remember the section well. Also if the same case law is asked, then it helps.
2. Also, Make a List of the Chapter wise Sections and have a good revision of the same.
3. You need not remember each sub-section. Just try to remember the section."
But ever and never quote wrong sections.
The biggest advantage of quoting sections is that it will impress the Exam evaluator. It might fetch you an extra mark. I hope we all know the value of even one mark in CA exams.
I hope the above things might help you...
