Unnecessary outlines add nothing but improves presentation.
Whereas Formats of specific A/c are important otherwise a wrong impression is put on examiner.
Try to practice questions with normal(not in full but easily understandable) format.

If you are having concepts on your finger tips, then i think you should not compromise on presentation part. Don't take risk of not writing all those stuff. You don't know your answer copy will land in whose hands for evaluation.

Time obviously matters when it comes to give an important and comparatively tough exams. But to give the presentation of your solution according to the expectation of the examiner is also important. To write dr, cr., particulars, etc at the format is also important, b'coz it clears that what type of format you are trying to represent, and there are much more chances of getting good marks. And I dont think that at this stage you will take much time to write just two letters. Isn't it?
As we say about sections in law, that if you dont write correct section number at correct places, it will do nothing but leave your solution to get only average marks, b'coz only your section quoting was wrong but your answer was perfect, but if you quote it correctly, you will able to get higher marks in comparison to above.
I hope I was able to answer your question.
It was just a suggestion.
All the Best...

take a look at the comments of IPCC Nov 2009 exams.........u will get ur ans there.......
the main theme u will get frm there is>>>>> ALL THE EXAMINERS HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINTS OF Lack of suitable formats and poor presntation.....
so i will suggest u to go with formats ...... but take the on spot decision at exam by seeing ur condition...... don't concentrate on FORMATS AND PRESENTATION.....on the cost of any question...
hope my suggestion works

Buddy, I would advise to go for the proper format.........it improves presentation plus it impresses the examiner because most of the student don't do it.
I did it in PE-I & PCC and I got 71-74 marks in Accounts.
