Dear Sir
As ICAI has given a OPT_OUT if it fulfills any of the three conditions, that is if the candidates himself a COVID-19, or any of the family members are covid-19 or if his area is containment zone, 5 moths ago if anyone member is a covid-19 patient, the whole street and area was closed as containment zone by the corporation of the area. Now the situation is different, as my opposite neighbor has affected Covid-19 and the corporation only have restricted the people from the house to come out and sanitizing the particular house we are jut opposite scared of opening our door, but it is not containment but we are contained our selves locked inside.
Can we optout for the exam for the next date owing to the above reasons? Can anybody advice, since slowly m=y colony spreads here and there which has 250 apartments.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Yes Sure. You can avail the opt-out facility if you satisfy any of the following three conditions:
(a) The students who are currently COVID-19 positive or having symptoms of COVID-19 at any time upto the conclusion of exams;
(b) Whose Family members with whom the students are staying are COVID-19 positive or become COVID-19 Positive at any time upto the conclusion of exams;
(c) If the area in which the student's residence is located is declared as Containment Zone by the Central Government/State Government/Local Authorities at any time upto the conclusion of exams.
ICAI has also opened a Jan/Feb window for exams for students opting out. Know more about the same here https://www.caclubindia.com/news/icai-prescribed-for-opt-out-scheme-for-ca-nov-20-exams-18707.asp

I believe you can owing to the second and third conditions. Neighbors cannot be counted as family members nor is your area counted as a containment zone but it is still risky, considering the government has eased the label of the containment zones. To be on a safer side, you can write an email to ICAI or contact them on their toll free number. Hope this helps you.
