my client was salaried assessee, if tds was deducted, my question was fixed deposit in the name of mother, now 80c deduction can I claim such deposit and get tds refund?
is it possible?

Fd should be in the name of the person who's tds is deducted...than you can claim tds refund. More overever FD should be of 5yrs lockin period and is made in the previous year of which tds is deducted
