I have a small doubt, regarding Section 383A of the Companies Act:
Whether the limit for mandatory appointment of a company secretary in a company is 5 crores or 2 crores (paid up capital).
Pls clarify?

Now the limit is Rs. 5 Crore.

Please find the notification.....w.e.f. 15/03/2009 section 383A has been modified.

Hi agreed with experts .... every company having a paid up capital of Rs.5 Crores or more is required to appoint a Whole Time Company Secretary!

I Agree With Ankur Earlier the Limit was Rs 2 Cr
Now Every Co having 10lacs or Above 10 Lacs upto 5 Cr Required Secretarial Compliance Certificate From Practising Comapny Secretary and Above 5 Cr Whole Time Company Secretary In Job,
10L Or Above 10L But Less Then 5 Cr | Compliance Certificate |
5 Cr or Above 5 Cr | Full Time CS |
