SIR I FILLED RETURN FOR ASSESSMENT YEAR 2019-20 IN DUE TIME MY FIRM UNDER SECTION 44AB BUT AS PER ASSESSMENT ORDER DEPARTMENT DEMAND RS 5000 U/S 234F PLZ ADVISE ME SIR

No need to pay the late fee. Already CPC give order the same..

The income tax department has admitted its error of charging late fee under 234F while processing ITR of working partners of firms under audit.
The taxman has assured that it will rectify the error on its own and remove the late fee charge.
Note that this is only in respect of WORKING PARTNERS.
So don't worry only if you are a working partner. Then Ignore demand notice for 5000/-.
