2 service tax codes for old and new registered office

Hi

We have changed our registered office address recently.

After changing registered office address, we applied for service tax registration and got Service tax code for new premises.

Before changing registered office address, we applied for service tax registration for old premises, but did not submit any documents for it.

We thought application has been denied after 15 days.

But after 2 months we see that a Temp based service tax code has been assigned for old premises.

Should we get this registration cancelled or can we leave it as it is without filing any returns or making any payments?

Please clarify.

If you are carrying any operations from the old office then no need to cancel the registration and you will have to make payments and file returns for both the offices. IF there are no oprations from old office then you may cancel the registration.

We are not carrying out any operations from old office.

Is it mandatory to cancel the registration?

We did not submit the documents for the registration and they completed registration with a temp based service tax code.

Will the registration not get cancelled by itself if we dont supply PAN details for this registration?

We will file returns for new office service tax code. Is that not sufficient?

Kindly clarify.

you have to cancell the same, department  will not auto cancell the same, and rem the number is alloted on your application , for which you failed to submit documents, so go for immediate cancellation 

in the meantime if any service tax is payable for old office, pay the same and file return.
