· Discussion on Accounting Standards and 35 IND AS recently notified by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA)
· Presentation of Financial Statements as per IFRS and Revised Schedule VI
· First Time Adoption of IFRS and Practical Challenges in Adoption
· Discussion on the Conceptual differences between Indian GAAP and IFRS
· Comparative analysis of IFRS and Indian GAAP including Ind. AS
· Discussion on the Carve-outs of IND AS by the MCA to make them more suitable for local need of entities operating in Indian economic environment.
· Discussion on the Tax Accounting Standards (TAS) proposed by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)
· Discussion on the recently issued IFRS and Convergence progress with US GAAP
2nd Day: US GAAP v/s IFRS:
· Overview of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principle
· Discussion on the Codification of US GAAP – Accounting Standards Codification by the Financial Accounting Standard Board (FASB)
· Presentation of Financial Statements as per US GAAP - Format and Contents.
· Revenue Recognition principle under US GAAP and their application in practical scenario’s
· Fixed assets capitalization and amortization under US GAAP
· Discussion on the Conceptual differences between Indian GAAP and US GAAP
· Comparative analysis of Indian GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS.
· Discussion on the recently issued Accounting Standards Updates by the FASB
Objectives of the Course:
On completion of the course candidates should be able to understand key differences/similarities between 3 different accounting standards – IFRS, IND AS and US GAAP
Faculty Profile:
Mr. Dayanand Yadav, the faculty for this programme is currently working as IFRS and US GAAP Consultant. His brief profile is as under:
a. He is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and an Associate member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
b. He is a diploma holder of Information System Audit from ICAI and Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Delhi University. He has several years experience in field accounting and financial reporting
c. He is a leading IFRS & US GAAP practitioner and specializes in International Financial Reporting (IAS/IFRS) and conversion from Indian GAAP to IFRS/US GAAP and vice- versa
He has extensive experience in advising multinational and domestic companies across a range of industries in the areas of first time adoption of IFRS, transition planning, and providing corporate training on IFRS, US GAAP, IND AS and Revised Schedule VI having conducted several workshops and training programs across India. He is the visiting faculty with the ICAI for IFRS and addressed various seminars on IFRS
