[urgent] should do ipcc both groups together or one by one

I cleared CPT exam in june 2012 and preparing for IPCC exams for May batch,2013

I want to know whether i should do Both groups together or the 2nd one in Novemebr

I heard from some sources that With doing both groups together, one get preference like something in job evaluation or other

Also i want to know that if i opt from both groups, then can i miss the May attempt and give both groups in Nov 2013 . Will there be any negative affect or etc if i miss the may attempt and go for Nov with both groups

I am also preparing for IPCC MAY 2013 and giving only Group 1 EXAM

Because I personaly feel we should do our Best in every Exam and time is limited. So I think You should prefer for only one Group.

But If you are Very Much Confident that You have ability to cover all 7 subjects + Revision within this time , then you should opt for Both Groups Together.

Advantages of Attempting Both the Groups :

Prefrence is given more to these students in Articleship in Big Firms.
Rank is given only if you have attempted both the groups.

Advatages of Attempting Single Group :

More Time for Each Subject
Chance to Score More
You can do more detailed study in each subject (which I think a Basic requirement for every CA)

And You can also go for BOTH Groups in Nov. 2013 but I think in this case your missed attempt May 2013 will be counted as NEGATIVE point while applying for Articleship.( This Last line is taken from external Source and are not my words )

But still last decision should be your own.

Personnaly i prefer to give one by one

i have also cleared group 1 of ipcc and now appearing for group 2 in nov12

it is upto you how much you can manage yourself

i thought that i wont be able to cover all 7 subjects at once thats why i opted for this option

and at the end of the the your abilities will always take you up. If you are capable then it doesnt matter that you give one or both groups or in how many attempts

so believe in yourself and do whatever you like and in which youn are comfotable

i would advise everyone to give both groups together.

i did both the groups and i passed group 2 oly bcos of the advantage of set off which is available oly if you do both groups. furthur not just big firms even small firms are looking for articles who have completed both groups.

if you think you cant handle both together i would say concentrate more on group 1 and give group 2 a shot cos mostly you'l pass with set off.

Assess your strenghts, time period consult your seniors teachers and then decide. As of now there is enough time to prepare both the groups. if you decide you must achieve without any delay. ALL THE BEST

Can anyone tell me that if i missed the may attempt and give both groups in Nov,13 so that i can get sufficient time to prepare ,then will there be any kind of negative points for missing the previous attempt

nothing like bad thinks but my view is no body shoul missedout first attempt always be a best attempt

Try to attempt both the groups since you have sufficient time now otherwise atleast try to attempt one group

But it is not the mean that if you omit these attempt you will get negative things

hi friend

last month i was in the same confusion but arter a lot of search n lookink the syllabus i decided to give only group 1 this may. i think to clear concept is rather important than counting attempts since ipcc is base of ca.

i m doing self study so i need a little more time . wt abt u? plz think n start ur job with a cool mind.

decide yourself what you want to do as you only know your capabilities. i am also attempting may 2013 exams preparing for both groups. i think the time is enough even to clear concepts. if you don't want to give exams in may then do not fill the exam form, then it will not be counted as attempt but as they say in future you may be asked about skipping these may exams. decide once and follow it, don't be confused otherwise you won't be able to give even one group.
