Who is the most important living person that you have met in your life so far? Many of you may mention many names. Are they really? But I say you go and stand in front of a full size mirror and see whom you see there. Yes. You see your own reflection in it and you are yourself is the most important living person that you have met in your life. All others are secondary because if you are not there, then it does not matter who else is there. Why is it necessary to consider yourself as the most important living person?   Because whatever that you say or do has a direct or indirect bearing to whomever you are connected with whether they are friends, relative, office people, foes etc. But whatever that you say or do is not necessarily be consistent nor constant. Your behaviour is the result of your thinking of the moment in which you are present under the circumstance that you are in at that time. Your behavioral pattern of that moment is known as attitude.

An attitude is an expression of favor or disfavor toward a person, place, thing, or event (the attitude object). Prominent psychologist Gordon Allport once described attitudes "the most distinctive and indispensable concept in contemporary social psychology.” Attitude can be formed from a person's past and present and it is also measurable and changeable as well as influencing the person's emotion and behavior. Attitude shapes the moods and behavior patterns of the people at given point of time and it is especially synonymous particularly with teenage rebellion of the present day. It is a stimulus and an influence on the choices of actions and responses depending on the individual likes and dislikes.  According to The Advanced Learner’s Dictionary of Current English - attitude is defined as "a way of looking at life; a way of thinking, feeling or behaving." Therefore an attitude is not just the way we think, but the way we think, feel and do. Attitude is, in other words, is your approach to what ever that you do. The Universal Law states that the man is the master of his own fate because we are masters, first, of our attitudes whether it positive or negative. Our attitudes shape our future. The law further states that we translate into physical reality the thoughts and attitudes which we hold in our minds no matter what they are.

The importance of attitude is the success or failure in life depends upon our attitude towards whatever that happens in our life. “Success or failure is caused more by mental attitude than by mental capabilities” and No condition or set of circumstances is in itself a calamity to be feared. It is our reaction to it that makes it ‘waterloo’ or a field of triumph.” Hence it is imperative and important that we should develop a positive attitude towards life because “Deep within man dwell those slumbering powers; powers that would astonish him, that he never dreamt of possessing; forces that would revolutionize his life if aroused and put into action.”

How to achieve a positive mental attitude? We, as human beings, have our power to guide our thoughts to positive thinking which plays a vital role in shaping our attitudes towards facing the ever changing realities of our life.   A positive mental attitude is the belief that one can achieve success through optimistic positive thought processes. “A positive attitude comes from observational learning in the environment and is partially achieved when a vision of good natured change in the mind is applied toward people, circumstances, events, or behaviors (Wikipedia). Since it is difficult to quantify (measure) the effects of a positive mental attitude, it can be considered a philosophy and a way to approach life.” Our thought process can be managed towards a positive thinking that “trains the human mind to change a perceived reality by repeatedly making positive mental statements” which is called the Auto Suggestion. Auto suggestion can be conscious and also unconscious. “Conscious auto suggestion is the agency of control through which an individual may voluntarily feed his subconscious mind on thoughts of a creative nature, or, by neglect, permit thoughts of a destructive nature to find their way in to the rich garden of his mind” and “Every individual responds to (unconscious) autosuggestions throughout his life more often than he does to conscious autosuggestion. In such instances he responds to habit and the inner urge of the subconscious.”  Positive thinking manages human mind towards achieving success based on a sense of well being, optimism, and sense of belonging, purposeful life and contribution to the welfare of the society.  It is also a process of choosing positive emotions from stimuli in the environment and applying them to perceptions and beliefs. The objective is to create an outlook that translates into a new or better chosen reality. It can translate what it believes in,” You can do it if you believe you can.”

Will you not be surprised to note that 1 percent of the population earns 96 percent of all the money that’s being earned?!!! Do you think it is an accident? No. It is designed that way. “Talking at a level of thought, the law of attraction states that like attracts like. If you see it in your mind, you are going hold it in your hand which means that THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS.” Can you achieve the power of positive attitude? Why not? You have to simply cultivate a positive thinking by following the under mentioned rules.

And too determined to be defeated.”
