Kushagra, first of all, many congratulations to you from the entire team of CAclubindia on securing AIR-1 in CA Intermediate May 2024 Exams!
Thank you!
What was your first reaction when you came to know that you had secured All India Rank?
The top rankers, especially from 1-10, are contacted by the President of ICAI on call. About 15 minutes before the results were published, I got a call from CA Ranjeet Agarwal. Initially, I thought it was a prank. I kept refreshing the website, and when the results were finally out, I was relieved to see it was real. I was overjoyed!
What was your parent's reaction when they heard about your results?
They were extremely happy.
Is there any CA in your family?
My dad is a CA Inter.
Who inspired you to choose this field?
My father was my inspiration.
Apart from your father, is there anyone else you would like to mention as a token of gratitude?
I would like to give special thanks to Sunil Keshwani, sir. He taught us CA Inter Costing, which is a very tough subject. His teaching made it manageable and understandable.
Can you share your study schedule and how you prepared for the exams?
I attended online coaching classes with PW (Physics Wallah) and studied regularly. I completed my syllabus without any backlog about two months before the exams. I then did three rounds of revision, studying 12-13 hours a day, including video lectures.
What are your hobbies besides studying?
I enjoy playing cricket.
Did you face any challenges during your preparation?
There were no personal challenges as my family took care of everything. However, in terms of studying, sometimes I faced difficulties, but my teachers were incredibly supportive.
How did you handle stress during your exam preparation?
I didn't take any stress. My preparation was steady from the start and I aimed to pass the exam rather than secure a top rank. This mindset helped me stay calm and focused.
Were you expecting a rank?
Not at all, especially after the first exam of Advanced Accounting, which was very tough. I didn't expect to get a rank.
What are your plans for your Articleship?
I'm aiming to do my Articleship in Gurgaon, preferably with one of the Big 4 firms.
Any special message for your juniors?
Consistency and revision are the key to success. Start revising two months before the exam and keep going through multiple rounds of revision. Each round will significantly improve your marks.
Any advice regarding Articleship? Should one opt only for the Big Firms?
One can do articleship anywhere, but given my rank, I'm aiming for the Big Four.
Would you prefer to go into Practice or take a Job after your CA Final?
I would prefer a job.
Thank you, Kushagra. It was great talking to you. We wish you all the best for your upcoming CA Final exams and hope to connect with you again. Good luck!
Thank you!
