I’ve had some wins. And been knocked down with defeats. Glimpsed views from the top of the mountain. And walked through the darkest of valleys. But through this entire ride called A Life—I’ve refused to give up. - Robin Sharma

Just name one student who is not pressurized by some or other factor to perform and produce result. Almost all the students, I would say more than 90% students, join the Chartered Accountancy/ Company Secretary ship/ Cost and Management Accountant Course because they are driven by their genuine interest and passion for the subjects. These courses are the highest level course in the Commerce field. However, the students end up cursing the same course in no time. What do you think is the reason behind it?

There are ill rumours about the subject, about the Institute, etc. for e.g.-

a. Costing mei jitne haath-pair maar lo, kuch nahi hone wala.

b. Institute has different standard deductions for different regions.

c. Even jokes on Institute are also there - Rishtey mein toh hum tumhare Baap lagtey hain, Naam hai ICAI! Haain!

Friends,

I am writing this article so that students should remove misconceptions from their mind and start their studies afresh. Our course is just wide and not tough. There is a lot to explore in every subject, in every chapter, everything is just so beautifully interlinked. There are exam pressures on everyone’s head at the moment but our performance is the least when we act under pressure. The need of the hour is to GET INVOLVED into studies/work. Don’t pollute your mind regarding whether you will be able to crack the exam or not.

“Making marks without creating meaning is an empty victory".

How to actually GET INVOLVED?

1. Be Peaceful - The mind is always thinking. It thinks and thinks and thinks. It is never at peace. Deep down inside, the mind is well aware that the exam needs to be cleared or it needs to win so just stop thinking about it all the time and just study. We won’t have a hard time concentrating in studies or work if just we be peaceful.

2. Be Enthusiastic - Dullness and seriousness leads a person to nowhere beautiful. It is important to be excited about the task in hand. There is a client in my principal’s office and he is such an enthusiastic man that he is pursuing MBA from Harvard at the age of 52. He goes abroad for classes every now and then.

“You only live once, and I just don’t want to waste a minute of my life”. - Richard Branson

3. Be Focused - “Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty four hour days.” - Stephen Richards

4. Be Courageous - Courage is your capacity to assert: “ I am myself, and my life is my life, and I am going to live it in my way. I am not here to live according to others, and I won’t allow anybody to dictate how I should live, what I should do. I will live according to my light whatsoever be the cost.”

Once we are into a course or into a job then there is obviously no looking back. So why not approach it with a right mindset and GET INVOLVED.

All the best!
