Lately, there's a lot of discussion in the social media about the mismatch that happened in the CA Final Nov 2017 results. There have been a lot of question which has been raised on the ICAI's examination mechanism.
The Issue:
After CA Final Nov 2017 Results on 17th January 2018, students accessed a score list wherein many of the students who had failed to clear the exams were shown as passed. This raised question in student's mind about the authenticity of the results. Subsequently, many students applied for revaluation and some others filed a writ petition.
Later on, during the CA Annual Function conducted on 06th Feb 2018, it came to notice that in total 5000+ students were affected due to the release of the alleged list and also for which no satisfactory response was received from the Institute.
ICAI President's Response:
Now, on 13th Feb 2018, ICAI organized press conference for the newly elected president and vice-president.
When the President was asked about his comments on the recent mismatch of the results in Nov 2017 CA Final exams, the response was follows:
'We have a very robust examination system and in this result also, in the larger interest of our students - our examination committee has taken further action to provide the certified copies to all the aggrieved candidates without any cost.' said the ICAI President responding to the question.
This is believed that this suo-moto step taken by the Institute will bring some clarity in the minds of students and will answer the question raised on the authenticity of the results to a large extent.
Also, according to the Institute it will help the students to do the self-assessment that in reality it was clerical error which has been misconstrued as mismatch in the results.
