GST Return Data which have been archived earlier it has been restored now.
On 29th September an advisory has been issued on the GST portal that data has been restored back on the portal.
This decision was taken because many businesses reported they faced challenges when the GST portal archived GST return data for the month of July 2017 and August 2017.

Advisory on Archival Policy
On 24th September 2024 an advisory was issued, the GST return data was set to be archived from the Portal after seven years.
But when the taxpayers looked for the old returns such as for July and August 2017, it was already archived on 1st August and 1st September 2024, respectively, as part of this process.

The restored data provides a temporary relief, but taxpayers should be prepared for future archival as the policy will be re-applied.
Taxpayers should download and save the old data as soon as possible.
