Exam brings super excitement for me for the past 13 years. being a professor, I am curious to find whether questions were from expected areas or something new has happened and whether any recalibration needs to be done. It is the most important thing to analyze a paper so that we can give efficient and effective content for students.

This time paper of old and new course had altogether different favor. In the old course hardly 19% of questions (Marks Wise) were new, and students could answer them reasonably well with the help of common sense. On other hand, the new course paper had almost 33% new and I would say they were of a medium level and not very easy to score. Similarly, in the old course, 70% of questions were from the past 4 attempts RTPs, MTPs, Exams & PM. On the other hand in the New Course, it was around 45%. Further, in the old course, 75% of questions were easy and in the new course, only 45%.

So, ICAI was kind to old course students, but that was not the case in the new course. But still, I will call a new course paper of medium level,  because it's CA Final and students should be prepared for this.

Students who covered our Regular Book 'Bhaskar' and Question Bank 'PARAM' were in a position to answer 80 to 85 marks in the new and old courses.

We have provided a detailed analysis below.

Final learnings for new course selective studies just ensured passing if you are good in theory writing/expression, for scoring covering all chapters and SAs was required. For the old course, it was a cake walk.

All this analysis is of 88 marks, out of which attempting 70 marks was required.

If you are well prepared, cover Bhaskar + PARAM.

If one cannot cover the following step by step as time permits, some may go up to 2 and some up to 4 or 5, but whatever you do it, should be thorough:

  1. First Cover IMP Questions of PARAM
  2. Then Cover recent RTPs & MTPs
  3. Then Cover all questions in param where you see 2018 / 19 / 20
  4. Then Cover areas in notes, not covered by questions
  5. Then got to the module, see diagrams and highlighted portion if there is anything new, we will soon question on such areas

But study only that much which you can digest and revise comfortably
