    Hi, Do books and dvd rental liabraries come under service tax and is the service tax applicable to them. Local libraries and even big players like bogflix and seventymm are not charging service tax seperately. Kindly advice.

    If a company wants to registered its depot under central excise, but due to space constraint cannot store the goods in the depot but are kept with the transporter, can cenvat be availed?

    Is the units registered under STPI availaing exemption of service tax is liable to get registered if the service provide include service to domestic person during the year.

    sir, CVD paid by importer/1st dealer pass on to 2nd trader/manufacturer who can take cenvat credit.what accounting entries in the books.pls explain.whether it is a balancesheet/P & L/MIS item.

    Sir, I am working in a IT company. Accounting Code for Ser.Tax. 00440245 Written as Rs. 40123 00440298 Written as 405 00440299 Written as 439 Total 40967 If 00440245 is 40123 00440298 is 802(i.e. 2%) 00440299 is 401(i.e. 1%) Total 41326 I am unable to understand this challan and tell me which I have given is it correct. Service Tax is 10% cess is 2% cess is 1% But my previous Accountnat paid like this. I am the only Accountant, Kindly give advise. We are paying on the received amounts only. The receipts are from April 1st to till now. But Invoices are raised in 6 months back. Give me the clarification Plz Sir. Urgent.
