About me

I am working as Company Secretary and Sr. Manager Accounts in a Public ltd co. in Vadodara. I handle Secretarial, Accounts, MIS and Costing functions for the Company. My qualifications are CS, CWA, MBA (Fin), B.Com and LL.B (Special).

    Dear Mr. Rajesh Q Whether custom duty and CVD are claimable or not in the following scenario:- (A) We import the excisable raw material and manufacture the excisable finished goods and sale it (B) We import excisable goods for direct sale. Your ans. was In the first case, yes. Because you are going to pay duty on the final product. In the second case, no. Simply because you are trading the goods. Q You said in first case(A) it will be claimable and in second case it will not be claimable, but now my doubt is that in first case whether only CVD is claimable or both CVD and custom duty are claimable.
