Dear Friends, My query is in relation to the accounting of penalty charged to the supplier on account of delay in delivery of capital assets. Please advise which of the following options are allowed: - To deduct the amount of penalty from the cost of the assets and depreciated accordingly. - Or to present the amount of penalty as Income and assets be presented at their full value in the financials and depreciated accordingly.
